Occupational Therapist at Swift Health
Amy has been a practicing Occupational Therapist since 2010. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy from a renowned college in the Philippines and was awarded as the best intern of her class.
She practiced as a pediatric occupational therapist in the Philippines for four years where she honed her skills in various treatment approaches. She worked closely with Physiotherapists, Speech Therapists, Special Education Teachers, and Psychologists.
Upon moving to Canada, she continued her practice in pediatrics and begun her journey in designing and providing treatment programs to an adult population who had work-related injuries or motor vehicular accidents. She is passionate about helping her clients adapt and gain confidence in performing meaningful tasks and activities in their everyday lives.
She received her Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy from a renowned college in the Philippines and was awarded as best intern of her class. In the same year, she placed second in the national OT licensure examination.
Amy is keen on achieving excellence in providing evidence-based treatment strategies by engaging in continuing education and professional development courses. She completed the USC (University of Southern California) Sensory Integration Continuing Education Certificate Program and STAR Institute’s Level 1 Intensive Mentorship (for Sensory Integration). Additionally, she is also a certified Functional Capacity Evaluator.
Seeing her clients gain or regain function and find meaning in life after a life-changing event drives her to work even more. She finds her profession very rewarding.
Amy has always been interested in health science as a child and she has a big heart for people in need. Since then, she knew she would want to work as a healthcare professional. When she learned about occupational therapy from a close relative, she knew it was a perfect match for her.
