Occupational Therapist
I started my career as a licensed occupational therapist in 2018. I worked in a public hospital and a child development center for four years. This provided me with valuable experience working with clients from diverse age groups and backgrounds. In adult rehabilitation, I’ve helped individuals recover from conditions such as stroke, spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, fractures, and nerve damage. On the pediatric side, I’ve worked closely with children diagnosed with autism, ADHD, cerebral palsy, developmental delays, and other neurological conditions. I particularly enjoy addressing sensory processing challenges, implementing behavioural interventions, facilitating play, and supporting children with feeding and handwriting difficulties. I also have a diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education from Vancouver Community College. These experiences have shaped my holistic approach to therapy, ensuring clients receive care tailored to their unique goals and needs.
I have a degree in Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy and obtained my professional license the same year I graduated. Currently, I am registered with the College of Health Care and Professionals in BC and Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists. I am also a member of the World Federation of Occupational Therapists.
What I love most about being an Occupational Therapist is seeing the positive changes in my clients' lives. It's incredibly fulfilling to help someone regain their ability to do things they enjoy or need to do, gain more independence, or overcome challenges they thought they couldn’t manage. Every small step forward—whether it’s a child independently tying their shoelaces for the first time, an adult returning to work and thriving in their job after a life-altering injury, or a family finding new ways to support a loved one—shows how meaningful this work can be. These moments inspire me daily and remind me why I chose this path.
I discovered occupational therapy through a close family member who often shared her experiences in the field. Hearing about how she helped people regain independence and achieve personal goals deeply resonated with me. I was fortunate enough to shadow one of her sessions, which allowed me to see firsthand how dynamic and impactful the profession can be.
