What Led Them Here
Luma found occupational therapy in her search for a helping profession that allowed her to become skilled at making positive impacts in other’s lives. During her MSc at York University, Luma studied the impacts of a planning intervention on individuals with pre-diabetes and type 2 diabetes. The results of the study and the testimonials from participants inspired Luma to want to make tangible impacts working with people one-on-one. Luma was amazed by the philosophy of occupational therapy and the emphasis it placed on meaningful activities as a part of wellbeing.
Luma enjoys spending time exploring the beauty of BC with her husband, both of whom come from Ontario. She love’s travelling, even if it’s a mini road trip. She’ll never say no to a movie or game night, especially if good snacks/food is involved!
